Pangaea - an international collaboration of web technology experts and internet business consultants offering high-quality near shoring services from Central Europe.
Working as an Independent Contractor (Lead Architect, Senior Developer, Engineering Consultant) I was working on following projects.
The Big Lunch is a high-profile community-building initiative across the UK. The concept was devised by the Eden Project and sponsored by MasterCard in partnership with EDF, Post Office & Royal Mail.
Pangaea developed the Big Lunch website, incorporating the Google Maps API and multiple state-of-the-art features. The launch was covered extensively by the UK media, including the BBC and most of the national newspapers.
Performance under heavy loads and site security were key criteria for acceptance. The underlying technology included the Zend Framework, ExtJS for registration forms and notifications, Doctrine ORM to optimize database interactions and the DWOO template engine. The site is CSS 2.1 compliant and meets W3C AA usability standards.

The Care Specialist (De Zorg Specialist - www.dezorgspecialist.nl) is a Dutch healthcare organisation specialising in personalised 24x7 home-based care. Given the target audience, our site design had a strong emphasis on accessibility. The site included Flash video, brochure download, job application forms and a secondary recruitment site. Pangaea combined Zend Framework components with the Doctrine ORM, the Swift mailing library to handle UTF-8 character encoding, the DWOO template engine for Unicode / UTF-8 support and PHPIDS for additional security.
